Bastrop State Park covers 5,926 total acres approximately 30 miles southeast of Austin in Bastrop County. It is the site of the famous “Lost Pines,” an isolated timbered region of loblolly pine and hardwoods. The park provides opportunities for backpacking, camping, picnicking, canoeing (park rents canoes), swimming (pool), golfing, wildlife viewing, hiking and interpretive programs.

Historic cabins built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression and preserved by the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department are still standing strong to accommodate two to six people for indoor stays.
