Take Hwy 71 to Bastrop State Park. Tool around in a canoe, then check out a local sculptor’s studio near the lake. Drop by Deep in the Heart Art Foundry and discover masterworks in bronze — maybe even pick up a new trophy for the mantelpiece. Then it’s a short hop to the Roadhouse for “real deal” burgers and milkshakes. And back to Hyatt Lost Pines Resort to chill out in style.

Nestled in the Lost Pines Region of Central Texas, Deep in the Heart Art Foundry was established in 1980 in the heart of downtown Bastrop. Over the ensuing years, we earned recognition as a small facility with excellent craftsmanship and a friendly staff. In 1999, after the foundry was purchased by Heart of Texas Art Group, Inc., we began a period of tremendous expansion, culminating in the move to a larger facility on a beautiful 4-acre track of land in the Bastrop Industrial Park in 2002.

Since April 2004, the Roadhouse has placed a priority on old fashioned quality and old-fashioned service to match the old-fashioned decor of the building. Success soon followed as word spread about the great food being served on Highway 21 East, at the top of the hill across from Bastrop State Park. Within six months of opening, the readers of the Bastrop Advertiser voted the Roadhouse as having the best hamburgers in all of Bastrop County! They have continued to bestow that honor on the Roadhouse every year since then! In 2009 the staff of Texas Monthly magazine set out on a quest to find the 50 best burgers in Texas. The Roadhouse Bastrop is proud to have made that list as well!
