Getting Here

Bastrop is the heart of the Lost Pines Region, so you’ll want to start there. Located about 30 miles southeast of Austin along Highway 71, Bastrop is an easy drive from the Houston and San Antonio areas as well.

Directions from Austin
Take 5th street east from downtown to I-35 South to Hwy 71 East. Stay on Hwy 71 East. Once past the Austin-Bergstrom Airport, downtown Bastrop is approx 20 miles. Exit Hasler Blvd/Childers St/Loop 150. Turn left on Loop 150 and follow it across the bridge. You have now arrived in historic downtown Bastrop.

Directions from Houston
From the 610 Loop, take 290 west, 110 miles, passing through Brenham/Giddings to 21W (just past Paige). Turn left at 21W. Go approx 13 miles and continue onto Chestnut Street until you arrive at the intersection of Main Street. You have now arrived in historic downtown Bastrop.

Directions from San Antonio
Follow I-35 North to Austin. Exit Ben White/Hwy 71 East. Stay on Hwy 71. Once past the Austin-Bergstrom Airport, downtown Bastrop is approx 20 miles. Exit Hasler Blvd/Childers St/Loop 150. Turn left on Loop 150 and follow it across the bridge. You have now arrived in historic downtown Bastrop.

Directions from Dallas
Travel east on I-35 approx 60 miles. Merge onto I-35 South and follow approximately 103 miles to the Texas 130 Toll Road. Travel S/E on Texas 130 approx 37 miles to the Hwy 71 exit. Travel east on Hwy 71 approx 18 miles. Exit Hasler Blvd/Childers St/Loop 150. Turn left on Loop 150 and follow it across the bridge. You have now arrived in historic downtown Bastrop.
