Just how did these Loblolly Pine trees get here, separated from the Piney Woods of East Texas by more than 80 miles? The botanists say the majestic trees are gifts from a long-ago glacier. But a far more colorful legend tells of a homesick Native American girl, newly married and far from her East Texas home. Perhaps runners from her new tribe carried seedlings here to comfort her...
